The challenge

For years, Tardis Environmental was well known digitally as a “portable toilet” hire company. This perception created a glass ceiling, causing them to miss out on high-margin, complex contracts in hazardous waste and infrastructure. The legacy site suffered from broad, low-value visibility and a lack of clear service hierarchy, failing to capture the “Emergency” and “Bulk” intent critical to securing recurring bigger and better B2B partnerships.

The Strategy

Our objective was a total strategic pivot: shifting the market perception from a simple equipment hirer to a “Reliable, Tech-Enabled, Full-Service Environmental Partner”. We moved away from “vanity traffic” to focus on Commercial Value and Intent.
The plan targeted three specific pillars:

Intent Refinement: Prioritising high-intent commercial terms over broad, low-value keywords.

Authority Building: Establishing a “One-Stop Shop” identity for welfare, wet waste, and bulk water services.

Conversion Optimisation: Streamlining user journeys to capture “panic-click” emergency leads.

The Execution

In collaboration with the technical team, we rebuilt the site from the ground up to serve as a high-performance sales tool:

  • Architecture Overhaul: Introduced clearer service hierarchies and improved internal linking to align page intent with specific B2B search queries.
  • Emergency Positioning: Optimised metadata and content to intercept high-value “Emergency” and “Bulk” searches.
  • Content Consolidation: Deliberately pruned low-performing, “trash” traffic pages to focus authority on priority service and conversion pages.
  • UX & CTA Refinement: Streamlined the “Request Emergency Quote” journey and enhanced page layouts to emphasise Tardis’s unique value propositions.

The Result

The migration proved that a “smaller, sharper” digital footprint yields significantly higher commercial returns. Despite a strategic reduction in broad traffic, the site now functions as a high-precision lead generation engine within 6-months:
